Steamed/Bhapa Sandesh With Date Palm Jaggery/3 ingredients recipe

A very easy and quick recipe to make delectable Bengali sweet. Try this microwave steamed sandesh in a few minutes and enjoy the heavenly taste.

Equipment

  • 1 Plate 
  • 1 Microwavable glass bowl
  • 1 Microwave 

Ingredients
  

  • 1&1/4 cup Chhena or paneer
  • 1/3 cup Date palm jaggery or khajur gur
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl take the paneer/cottage cheese (paneer shouldn’t too dry) and jaggery (add little less, after mixing taste it, add more if require). Mix it well.
  • Add cardamom powder and knead it nicely until you get soft and smooth texture. You can also use mixer grinder or food processor.
  • Now take a microwavable bowl grease it with little ghee/clarified butter and pour the mixture in it.
  • Microwave it on high popowef or 3-4 minutes.
  • Its ready now let it cool down at room temperature then put the container in refrigerator for half an hour. Cut it and enjoy the heavenly taste.
  • Recipe with sugar
    In a bowl put paneer ( it should be soft) add sugar and mix nicely.
  • When it gets soft and smooth add the cardamom powder. Knead it again with your palm or grind it
  • Now make it like jaggery sandesh. Follow the microwave method recipe.
  • Garnish with tutti fruity, cherry or dry fruits. Keep it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Notes

1. Every oven takes different time so check after 3 minute. If not set microwave for 1-2 minutes more. 
2. Colour of sandesh depends on the colour of jaggery. In above pictures I used different jaggery or khajur/nolen gur or date palm jaggery. So you can see the changes in colour. 
3. You can also use sugar instead of jaggery. Scroll up for the recipe. You can use saffron, rose essence or any flavour in the sandesh made with sugar.
