Stewed Apple/Apple Stew

Stewed apple or apple stew. A very delicious, aromatic and easy to cook recipe. Enjoy it as a dessert or serve it with icecream, overnight oats, pancakes etc.

Equipment

  • 1 Peeler
  • 1 Knife 
  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Apple Peeled and cored
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg or jaiphal powder
  • 1 tbsp Cashew nuts Broken
  • 1 tbsp Raisins
  • 1 tbsp Almond Shredded
  • 1/4 cup Water Or as required
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Peel the apples. Rinse the raisins. Chop the almonds and break the cashew into half.
  • Chop the apples into small pieces. In a pan or wok mix chopped apples and brown sugar.
  • Add cashew nuts, raisins, almonds, cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder. Add water and let it boil. Cover and reduce the heat. Let it cook on simmer for 10 minutes. Check and stir after 5 minutes.
  • Cook until apples becomes soft and water absorbed. You can add little more water if required. Add lemon juice. Mix well and remove from heat. Break the apple pieces gently with a spatula. Serve warm or cold as a dessert or serve it with icecream, pancakes, overnight oats etc.

Notes

1. You can use vanilla, cardamom powder or any flavour of your choice.
 
2. Sugar, jaggery, coconut sugar, maple syrup or any sweetener can be used instead of brown sugar.
